Pudding with Vanilla Sauce

*Ingredients:


+To make this Recipe, you will need the following ingredients:

°3 eggs, beaten

°1 ½ cups sugar

°2 tbsp. brown sugar

°1/2 tsp. cinnamon

°1/4 cup butter, melted

°3 cups 3.25% milk

°10 slices of crusty bread, toasted and cut into cubes

°1 cup raisins

°1/2 cup brown sugar

°1 C. all-purpose flour

°a pinch of cinnamon

°1 egg

°2 tbsp. butter, melted

°1 ¼ cup 3.25% milk

°a pinch of salt

°1 C. vanilla extract 

Instructions:

Preheat oven 375°F (190°C).

Greased 2 L baking dish.In a bowl, mix 3 eggs with the sugar, 2 tbsp. brown sugar, 1/2 tbsp. cinnamon, 1/4 cup butter and 3 cups milk; add bread cubes and raisins. Transfering this mixture to baking dish.

Bake until pudding is golden brown and set in center, about 50-55 minutes. If necessary, cover the dish after 30 minutes of cooking, so that it does not brown too much. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Prepare the vanilla sauce:

In a saucepan, whisk together 1/2 cup brown sugar, flour, a pinch of cinnamon, 1 egg, 2 tbsp. melted butter, 1 ¼ cups milk and a pinch of salt.

Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened, about 10-12 minutes.

Add the vanilla extract and pour the sauce over the hot bread pudding.
