Garlic Butter Mushrooms are a quick and impressive side dish that is a staple of meals in our home steakhouse. They roast in the oven just like your favorite veggies and after adding some butter they’re ready to serve quickly. This recipe is so popular in our home that even people who promise they hate mushrooms always end up in seconds. It is also a perfect basic recipe for cooking mushrooms for other dishes.
As a kid I would watch my mom completely peel the tops of mushrooms, so I thought this was the way to clean them until I was working alongside a chef who saw me peeling mushroom tops in horror and asked what I was doing. Since I know I don’t have to peel the surfaces on which I use mushrooms much now, it takes almost no time at all!
